Iber Lengua Terrasvogels heeft voormalig profwerpster Morgan Melloh aangetrokken voor het nieuwe seizoen.

Afgelopen zomer speelde de linkshandige Morgan Melloh professioneel in de National Pro Fastpitch en was een rookie bij de NPF Diamonds.
Op 9 juni was ze de winnende werpster in de openingswedstrijd van het seizoen vs. Akron Racers.
In het bijna drie maanden durende seizoen was ze 3-12 voor Diamonds die op de vierde en laatste plaats eindigden met een 6-32 'record'.
In 112 innings kwam ze tot 87 strikeouts.
Voordat ze prof werd speelde Morgan Melloh (die in augustus 23 werd) in haar Senior-seizoen voor Indiana University, nadat ze de voorgaande drie seizoenen had gegooid voor Fresno State University.
Voor het komende college-seizoen is ze een Student Assistant Coach bij de Hoosiers, de ploeg van Indiana University, en dat betekent dat ze ergens in mei naar Nederland zal komen.
Toen Morgan Melloh besloot te gaan spelen voor Indiana stelde Hoofd Coach Michelle Gardner dat ,,Morgan zonder enige twijfel een onmiddellijke invloed zal hebben op ons programma. Ze kan in wedstrijden op een enorm hoog niveau domineren''.
De coach kreeg gelijk, want Morgan Melloh sloot het seizoen 2011 (dat eindigde in mei) af met een 32-17 'record', een 1.64 ERA en kwam tot 494 strikeouts (het meeste ooit in haar loopbaan) in 320 1/3 inning.
Haar strikeouts braken het school-record van 370, dat in 1986 werd gerealiseerd.
Na haar succesvolle seizoen bij de Hoosiers werd Melloh opgenomen op de ASA/USA Softball National Player of the Year Watch List.
In haar Senior-seizoen zorgde ze voor verschillende schoolrecords en werd uitgeroepen tot Big Ten Pitcher of the Year.
Als werpster van Fresno was de 'southpaw' 90-35 in drie seizoenen met een 1.76 ERA.
Ze gooide 95 complete wedstrijden, waaronder 42 shutouts.
In haar eerste twee seizoenen registreerde Melloh 904 strikeouts in 679 2/3 inning en werd na Monica Abbott (Tennessee), Cat Osterman (Texas) en Angelica Selden (UCLA) pas de vierde college-werpster die 400 of meer strikeouts gooit in opeenvolgende seizoenen.
In haar derde seizoen had ze 234 strikeouts om haar totaal op 1138 te brengen.
In haar eerste seizoen voor de Bulldogs in Fresno was ze 42-9 met een 1.29 ERA, gooide 20 shutouts en had 454 strikeouts in 360 1/3 inning en won ook de pitching Triple Crown (meeste wins, beste ERA, meeste strikeouts).
Ze werd gekozen in het Second Team All-American Team plus nog eens vier All Star Teams en won verschillende persoonlijke prijzen, waaronder Rookie of the Year in haar Conference en Fresno State Female Athlete of the Year.
Ze werd de eerste werpster in de schoolhistorie met 40 overwinningen en zorgde voor verschillende records.
Het volgende jaar was ze 30-16 en had 450 strikeouts (het tweede hoogste aantal landelijk) in 319 1/3 inning met een 1.71 ERA.
Na het seizoen werd ze gekozen in drie All Stars Teams en voerde opnieuw de league aan in wins en strikeouts.
In haar derde seizoen in Fresno was Melloh 18-10 met 234 strikeouts in 161 1/3 inning en een 2.95 ERA.
Voordat ze ging studeren in Fresno was Morgan Melloh ook een sterwerpster op Hamilton Southeastern High School, met wie ze in 2007 het staatskampioenschap van Indiana en werd uitgeroepen tot Indiana Miss Softball.
In haar laatste seizoen in Hamilton had ze 426 strikeouts in 167 innings en sloeg .378 met zes homeruns en 33 binnengeslagen punten.
In haar vier college-seizoenen (2008-2011) was Morgan Melloh 122-52 met een 1.73 ERA en had 1632 strikeouts in 1161 2/3 inning.

This past Summer, Morgan Melloh played professionally in the National Pro Fastpitch, being a rookie for the NPF Diamonds.

In the almost 3-month season, she was 3-12 for the Diamonds, who finished in fourth and last place with a 6-32 record.
